This is a basic and simple guide to dream interpretation to refresh your soul memory, get you started and inspire you to keep going. By working with your dreams, you are connecting with your soul and aligning with your highest soul path. You are also learning how to be more conscious in your dreams to prevent uninvited manipulation. Dreams Are MessagesDreams are messages from our soul and spirit to help, guide, inform, protect, alert and generally to assist us in our soul healing and embodiment journey. There are many types of dreams, and each type would correspond with our emotional state, daily experiences and the message your psyche wishes to impart to you. When it comes to dream interpretation knowing what dream type you had could be helpful, but not essential. It’s the content of the dreams that we are interested in, however, in my opinion it’s still helpful to know the type as it helps you to determine the urgency and the depth of significance of the dream and how much attention you would want to spend working with it. Although any type of dream would be significant in terms of its message to help us gain self-awareness and inner knowledge. Types of DreamsThere are different types of dreams: standard, nightmares, re-occurring, prophetic, lucid, daydreaming, epic, archetypal, vivid, semi-conscious (when you wake up in the dream and start dreaming consciously) and possibly more types. Dreams can also be interpreted on many levels : basic psychology, spiritual level and multidimensional. Here I am giving a basic psychology level interpretation coupled with spiritual level. For multidimensional dream interpretation you need to be aware of the basic planetary and galactic history and your light body anatomy. Dream JournalOnce you’ve identified the type of dream you then begin the interpretation. Ideally you need to keep your dream journal by your bed, so you can access it on waking before the dream dissipates away from your conscious mind. You can also record your dream on your phone devise or tablet, or dictate it into a word document, although your own writing is the best option. Best Time for Working with Your DreamsGenerally, the best time to interpret the dream is later, say at the end of the day, as more dream-relevant insights will be uploaded into your conscious mind during the day. A good idea is to share your dream out loud with you with a trusted friend or loved one. You are not asking them for interpretation, but for their witness-awareness to be present when you’re sharing the dream. Carl Jung used to share his dreams, because in his words he could not see what was behind him, i.e. his shadow, but the person in front of him could, thus through their seeing he was able to have eureka insights about interpretations of his dreams. How to Interpret Your Dreams
Awareness of Dream Sections There are three parts to a dream- beginning (setting the scene), middle (the action phase) and end phase (how dream ends). Dream ending is always the ‘take away’ message, the action or behavioural adjustment that your psyche is guiding you toward through the dream. Once you noted all the information, follow the list below to help you get started on your dream deciphering. Dream Feelings This is a clue to the energy that needs to be released, witnessed, acknowledged, cleared, resolved etc. Example: feeling perturbed or annoyed may mean that the issue to which the dream is highlighting is calling you for resolution of the issue to move you along your highest path of soul growth. Dream Surroundings This is the psychic landscape of the dreamer which may also include the psychic landscape of others as perceived by the dreamer. This can be a house, being outside in nature, visiting old school, college, etc, unknown buildings, rooms, structure, trains, café, planes – all these are symbols for you to link with your current life and find associations that are relevant to you. Example: if you dream of your family home, you may have unresolved issues from childhood; if you are in a train- then it may be linked to your current movement in life, your direction and timeline; in a car – it’s your personal timeline; in a plane – these are your aspiration, ideals, mental sphere, uncertainties. Use your imagination and look into a dream dictionary online for inspirational ideas. Dream Symbols Along with main archetypal figures, colours, animals, and actions you may also see objects which can have direct or symbolic meaning within your dream scape. Example: you may see an answer machine or a mobile phone, which may point to communication and how it is expressed in someone’s life. The message may be about us being blocking communication or information. You may see a mirror – this is a reflection of how you see yourself. Clock may represent life cycles, the passage of time and our attitude to 'time ticking', it could also be a symbol of our deepest self. Main Archetypes will present as your Persona, Anima or Animus, Child, Mother, Father, Hero, Shadow, trickster, Wise old Man – all hidden under the symbolic images of your friends, family, or unknown figures, animals etc in your dream. You determine them by how they appear and by their actions and then you look for associations that they may represent in your life. Example – if you have three children and dream about three playful animals – then this is a symbolic representation of your children. Shadow may present itself as something that is trying to attack you. Water, Rivers and Oceans represent emotional sphere and reflect our emotions and feelings. Dream Actions
